The goal of IMPACT Sundays is to equip students for godly living now and prepare them to continue to follow Jesus into the future. On Sunday mornings at 9:30 we meet as God’s people to encourage each other to "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." This is a time of prayer, music, small group discussion, and practical application of God’s Word.
Middle School (6th - 8th Grade)
For the next few months we will be slowly walking through the letter Paul writes to the church at Philippi. Paul is overflowing with joy and thanksgiving, even during difficult circumstances. His letter highlights fundamental disciplines for the Christian life.
High School (9th -12th Grade)
From Pastor Josh: Second Corinthians has long been one of my favorites among Paul's letters, but I have not yet taught through it. I am excited to remedy that situation this fall as I co-teach the book alongside Matt Gillmore on Sunday mornings. Matt is an elder at IBC and an excellent Bible teacher. He will teach some weeks and I will teach others. Our prayer is that God's Word through Paul will change our own hearts and overflow in our teaching. Second Corinthians is the most personal of Paul's corporate letters, written from the anguish of tears, betrayal, and slander. I can sum up the book no better than commentator C.K. Barrett puts it. Utilizing Paul's own words, he says: 'Writing 2 Corinthians must have come near to breaking Paul, and a church that is prepared to read it with him, and understand it, may find itself broken too. Yet an earthenware vessel that contains such treasure need not fear breaking; it is the apostolic vocation to carry about the killing of Jesus, and those who accept it are apt to find the funeral transformed into a triumph, as they learn to trust not in themselves but in him who raises the dead.'
